The short version. Your photos and videos never leave your device. Swipe2Clean reads them to show you thumbnails and to delete the ones you choose, and that is all. We do not upload, copy, back up or analyse your media on any server — there is no server that could receive them.
Swipe2Clean is published by THE ALCHEMIST CODE LTD (“we”, “us”). For anything in this policy, contact contact@thealchemistcode.org.
The app requests access to your photo library so it can show you your own media and remove the items you decide to delete. All of this happens on the device:
No photo, video, thumbnail, fingerprint or filename is ever sent off your device.
| Data | Why | Processor |
|---|---|---|
| Usage events (screens opened, cleanup sessions completed, purchases) | To understand which features are used and where people get stuck | Google Firebase Analytics |
| Crash reports (stack traces, device model, OS version) | To find and fix crashes | Google Firebase Crashlytics |
| A pseudonymous app instance identifier | To group the above into sessions and to deliver configuration | Google Firebase |
| Advertising identifier and ad interactions | To show ads in the free version | Google AdMob |
| Push notification token | Only if you enable notifications | Google Firebase Cloud Messaging |
| Purchase transaction and product identifiers | To unlock and restore Premium | Apple / Google |
We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, contacts, precise location, or the content of your library.
The free version shows ads supplied by Google AdMob. On iOS, the app asks for your permission through Apple’s App Tracking Transparency prompt before the advertising identifier is used. If you decline — or never answer — you still get the app in full, and the ads you see are simply non-personalised. You can change your mind at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking. On Android, you can reset or delete your advertising ID in Google Settings.
Premium subscribers see no ads at all.
Subscriptions and the lifetime unlock are processed entirely by Apple or Google. We never see your card details, billing address or Apple/Google account. We receive only the identifier of the product purchased and whether the purchase is currently valid.
If you are in the EEA or the UK, we rely on your consent for analytics and advertising, and on our legitimate interest in a working product for crash diagnostics. You have the right to access, correct, delete or export your data, and to object to processing.
Because we hold no account and no server-side copy of your library, the practical way to erase everything we hold about you is to uninstall the app — that removes all on-device data — and to email us so we can request deletion of the analytics records tied to your app instance identifier.
Swipe2Clean is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
On-device data lives until you delete the app or use “Reset review progress” in Settings. Analytics and crash data are retained by Google for up to 14 months.
If we change this policy we will update the date above, and material changes will be announced in the app before they take effect.
